Why?

Why?
Mount Fuji, Japan

After passing my second anniversary of living fully nomadically while living out of a carry-on backpack, I've had to live with a certain level of minimalism that can be unforgiving.

It's not just using what you need but reducing what you need to a set of profoundly cared-for and well-maintained items. Not everything is easily replaceable on demand, and every ounce of weight matters.

With more AI-generated Ad content being pushed out every day, it can be near impossible to find reviews that can be trusted. If you see something written by someone, you must determine if the article is sponsored content; Or if they have tested it thoroughly. Professional reviewers may try something for a month before moving on.

How do you know if it's quality if you're not running something into failure and developing a deep understanding of why it failed and what design decisions led there?

Understanding fiber strengths, weave techniques, and the trade-offs between hems with the experience of making those choices is a far quicker way to appraise quality. Things are extensively battle-tested after selecting for quality, not quantity (to drive content). Sometimes for years of daily use.

My reviews come from a place of understanding, practice, and battle testing.
